Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
Course Duration 5 days
Who should Attend Anyone within the Construction and Civil Engineering who has responsibility for any part of  Site Management.
Aims of Training This programme assists Managers in developing a better understanding of the moral and social responsibilities of their role. To establish and maintain safe systems of work, satisfying legislative requirements from information obtained during the course.
Training Content
  • Introduction to Health and Safety law
  • Risk Assessment and ‘principles of prevention’
  • Development of ‘Safe systems of work’ and permit systems
  • Accidents costs, causes, investigation, prevention and reporting
Knowledge

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Manage Health and Safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their Management and Supervisory role
  • Identify and avoid potential hazards on site
  • Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments and other statutory requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Identify and avoid potential Hazards on site
Maximum Number of Delegates 10 number
Training Methods & Resources Required

A high proportion of discussions, best practise sharing, syndicate exercises and case studies supplemented by video/dvd’s and Classroom based tutorials.

Training room to comfortably accommodate all delegates with 240v power supply. The course is purely theoretical.
