Service Avoidance Training
Course Duration Half to One Day including practical element
Who will Benefit Operatives, Supervisors and Managers who have to locate underground apparatus for work on Construction sites, buildings, roadways and highways.
Aims of Training To train  personnel in the knowledge needed to carry out cable and service avoidance work in order to safeguard themselves and others.
Training Content & Knowledge By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
    • Read and understand site plans
    • Principles of location and avoidance of underground services
    • Operate cable avoidance tools in order to avoid or locate underground apparatus
    • Identify potential risks to themselves and others

Training Methods

A high proportion of discussion and simulated assessments supplemented with video, classroom tutorials and progress test. There is also individual practical assessments on both the Cable Avoidance Tool and Genny.

Maximum Number 8 number
Resource Required Client to provide:
  • Training room to comfortably accommodate all the delegates with 240V power supply for the theory component of the course. A suitable number of Cable Avoidance Tools and Genny’s.
Trainer to provide:
  • Training Equipment (course notes and presentation package incl. one number Cable Avoidance Tool and Genny).
